Round table "Changes of the Penal Code and the Law on Public Order Offences - with purpose of suppression of violence against women"

A representative of Women’s Association Vukovar participated at the round table “Changes of the Penal Code and the Law on Public Order Offences – with purpose of suppression of violence against women”, organized by Centre for Women War Victims ROSA in behalf of PETRA Network on January 27, 2010, in Hotel Dubrovnik in Zagreb. The round table was organized in relation to changes of the mentioned laws.

Besides the members of PETRA Network the meeting attended Ms. Ksenija Turković, J.S.D., Chairperson of the work group for creation of the new Penal Code, Ms. Gordana Lukač Koritnik, Ombudswoman for Gender Equality, Ms. Vesna Pusić, President of Croatian People’s Party (HNS) and the Member of Parliament, Morana Paliković Gruden, Vicepresident of the City Assembly of City of Zagreb as well as representatives of police, social welfare centers, members of the work group for creation of the new Penal Code, representatives of other NGOs and media.

The meeting was facilitated by Djurdjica Kolarec, the Coordinator of PETRA Network, who at the same time presented the position of PETRA Network related to prostitution and trafficking in women as well as the proposed law changes related to the mentioned laws.
