On 08th – 11th of May 2008 PETRA Network held a meeting/seminar for all members of the PETRA Network and representatives of networks for suppression of trafficking in women and children of Serbia and Bosnia and The main topic of the seminar was related to providing assistance to women victims of trafficking and domestic violence. The focus was on crisis intervention and counseling methodology in work with victims.

Two representatives of Women’s Association Vukovar actively participated in the meeting of Bura Network, organized from 7th to 9th of May 2008 in Hotel Palace in Zagreb. The activities of the first day were focused on overview of the campaign and research conducted in 10 cities all over Croatia.

A national-level workshop “Analysis of Examples of Transnational Referral Mechanisms (TRM) for Victims of Trafficking in Persons in Practice” was held in Vodice on 29th – 30th of April 2008.
The workshop was focused on elaboration of real cases against all segments of assistance to victims. It was attended by representatives of departments for organized crime and border police of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Red Cross, and NGOs.

A three-day seminar “Women against Domestic Violence” was organized in Donja Stubica by Women’s Room, Zagreb. The participants were acquainted with the draft of Protocol on Protection of Sexual Violence and worked on actual cases of sexual violence. The seminar attended representatives of 9 Croatian NGOs, including the representative of Women’s Association Vukovar.

Association for Peace and Non-violence “Baranja” of Bilje has commenced the implementation of the pilot project for empowerment of women of the rural areas, suppression of violence against women and establishment of support teams. The established support teams include women from several Baranja villages. During this first workshop the members of the support teams were acquainted with mechanisms for protection of domestic violence.

A two-day seminar on suppression of trafficking in persons and cooperation with NGOs took place in Hotel Slavonia, Vinkovci. The seminar was organized by Croatian Ministry of Interior, within the activities supported by CARDS programme. The seminar attended representatives of Ministry of Interior, social welfare centres, Red Cross and Women’s Association Vukovar.
